The Left Side of the Face

Oh, the damage that is done.

If you live up in the suburbs like I do and have active children chances are you will find yourself behind the wheel a good 70% of the day- not kidding! And if you have a sunroof, oh that poor forehead.

Now take a look at the left side of your face vs. the right- see anything? Really, really look. For me, I notice I have more dark spots on the upper left side of my forehead vs. my right. My left arm and hand appear darker than my right side. A recent study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology found that drivers that spend prolonged amounts of time in the car have a greater risk to show skin cancer appearing on the left side of their faces. Our left side (especially our face) is exposed to more sunlight. This is all because we are constantly driving. Car windows do not block against ultraviolet rays, and if you are driving with the windows down and sunroof open, well there is your direct hit.

Dermatologists can tell if you're a driver because you have more wrinkles on the left than the right, from sun exposure through the window. If you travel via airplanes often, you can even get it through an airplane window, or the window of an office. You really need to put sunblock on, not just on sunny days. If you're squinting, you can get sun damage.

I have been selected as a Goodskin Labs Honorary Circle Member and have been given the opportunity to try many of their products, and I hold this title with great pride. Goodskin Labs is one of those lines that isn't as recognizable as it should be. You can buy it in Kohl's department stores, and the line is supported by strong claims, backed by cutting-edge science and has dermatologist on board to evaluate every product. What I like most about the 'Circle' is women like us share our views about the products.Prior to this title, I tried and loved Equinol, which continues to help my dark spots.

One product, which I have been using everyday, since May is Goodskin's Exten-10 Instant Youth Building Moisturizing, SPF 15, $44.40. It offers a Triple Sunscreen Technology. The scientists at GoodSkin Labs didn't forget about the #1 cause of aging: sun exposure. Exten-10 includes a unique broad spectrum SPF 15 complex to keep skin protected from UVA/UVB damage all day long. But its strong defense doesn't stop there, and that's what I love, it contains a Sirtuin Power Complex that supports skin's natural stimulation of proteins, boosting its ability to reduce the look of lines and wrinkles with impressive results. It also, helps skin fight the daily, aging stresses to prevent future damage.

And while it is treating and protecting your skin, its HA Brightening Blend is hydrating and brightening the skin restoring its youthful vibrancy to dull, aging skin. Not sure if its claim, "after 4 weeks, look 10.4 years younger", but my skin definitely looks well-moisturized and radiant. This is what I like best about the product, since many sunscreens give the skin either a 'greasy, whitened' look or make the skin look too matte and not glowing enough. This is my everyday go-to moisturizer and I definitely up the SPF when on the beach or in the sun for an extended amount of time.

GoodSkin Labs advancements, Exten-10 was extensively tested and monitored. The results? 100% of the users showed an improvement in radiance and moisturization- I consider myself "one of those".

So far, all the products I have tried have proven results and next on my must-try list are Sculptinex Instant ReSculpting Face Treatment and Filextra Facial Volumizing Treatment.- thank goodness these products work more easily than remembering their names.
