~ How does your region rank?

Full Discloser: These products were provided as a courtesy of RoC Skincare. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Sitting on the bleacher's at my son's baseball game this Sunday, I was exposed to a constant desert-like sandstorm due to a very dry field which wasn't watered down. I noticed my cellphone quickly would cover in a layer of dust immediately after wiping it clean. I could feel the dust mask me from head to toe after each inning. Besides being exposed to the elements, it was a very high UV index weather day, I couldn't wait to jump in the shower immediately when I got home and rinse all the dirt and sunscreen off my body. This prompted me to think about a survey I was reading this past weekend from the experts at RoC® Skincare. They created the "WrinkleRanking" to identify which U.S. residents are most susceptible to wrinkles and how to help ease the effects of aging influences on your skin. I thought if the RoC Experts came to sit exactly where I was seated with the sun beating down on me, and the sand swirling around me, that little area in North Branford, Connecticut would have skyrocketed to the top. But thankfully, it isn't always like this, but some areas in the U.S. truly wreak havoc on the skin on a regular basis. RoC® Skincare conducted a study to assess the impact of lifestyle, occupational and environmental elements on skin by region such as climate and pollution.

Aging is more than skin deep. According to New York City-based board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Erin Gilbert, MD, UV: "People are widely aware of the dangers of UV exposure, so a natural assumption is that the Sunbelt states would automatically be at the top of this list. However, we sometimes forget there are a number of regionally-based factors- not getting enough rest or working late hours- that can also take a toll on your skin."

Eeeeek! New York City ranks in at #2! This doesn't surprise me, but didn't think it would so close to the top. Other regions scoring a top ten rank are the following:

1. RIverside-San Bernadino-Ontario, California
2. New York, New York
3. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
4. Atlanta-Sandy Springs- Marietta, Georgia
5. Baltimore-Towson, Maryland
6. Denver-Aurora, Colorado
7. Chicago-Naperville-Arlington Heights, Illinois
8, Newark, New Jersey-Pennsylvania
9. St. Louis, MO-Illinois
10. Orlando-Kissimmee, Florida

However, don't breath a sign of relief just yet---- there are 40 other regions making the top 50 list so you just may not be out of the clear just yet. Here are some tips from Dr. Gilbert to keep your skin looking vibrant:
- In addition to wearing sun protection regularly, Dr. Gilbert says to consume a diet high in antioxidants, like berries, beans, leafy greens, apples and artichokes.
- By sleeping more and exercising you improve your overall healthy, which is a positive way to fight wrinkles.
- Use a RETINOL and a sunscreen all year round to combat temperature changes, which isn't the best for your skin- I LOVE RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream-
