Thumbs Up to this Product in a City that is Tough on the Skin

~  Marula Oil

Scottsdale, Arizona has consistently sizzling temperatures. The mercury in Scottsdale reaches 90ºF or higher on an average 169 days per year — and when I was there it was at a constant 100ºF . Besides the sun shining bright, the air conditioning is constantly running, both which dries out the skin. Scottsdale probably ranks as also one of the top five cities that is the driest in the United States, so even if you use your AC as sparingly as possible, you'll still have trouble locking moisture into your skin.

I took the opportunity to ask Lia Rowland, the Spa Director at Four Seasons at Troon North, is there a favorite product she has, and she didn't hesitate to say, "I try many, since companies send me products to try all the time hoping to sell them in the spa. But recently, during my last pregnancy, I was sent home with Marula Oil, which I absolutely loved, and so does my skin. We now sell it in the spa."

So, I took Lia's advice, bought the product while I was there, used it, loved it, and still using it now! I did a little research and learned, Marula oil is made from the fruit of the marula tree, which is native to Africa. It's moisturizing, but it won't clog your pores, it's rich in essential fatty acids that mimic those in your skin, and offers amazing skin benefits. It also contains the antioxidants vitamin C, vitamin E, and flavonoids. And if you are afraid it might be too oily, no worries, it's a surprisingly nonoily oil, which absorb quickly into your skin (or hair, YES, good there too!).
