I Have A “Dirty Little Secret” ...

January 14th, 2016

~ A look at spring’s nail forecast.

Peach, lilac and sage seems to be running the color gamut for Spring 2016 nail shade forecast, according to Deborah Lippmann. But the one shade on my radar is "Dirty Little Secret", a beautiful sheer, holographic greige. I remember seeing it on the runway during Fashion Week, it feels like ions ago, and I had to search through my emails to recover the inspiration. I love reflecting back on the story behind a shade, it brings it to life for me and makes it more than 'just a shade'. It's a feeling, a mood, a concept, and so I share it with you and why it is going to be a fave of mine!

Inspiration: “This season Narciso imagined the city’s modern cool girl, the epitome of elegance, but who isn’t afraid to hit the town with abandon. She is simultaneously glamorous yet carefree, unafraid to wear off her full face of makeup or mess up her hair dancing into the hours of the night. Here, her hair is still wet with sweat, her makeup now ‘invisible' and hands looking lifeless....I translated this elegant chaos by doing the reverse of what this girl normally does...rather than layer a shimmer over a nude, we modernized it by placing a nude over a holographic shimmer lacquer - My Dirty Little Secret - a brand new shade for Spring 2016. The effect, featuring a matte finish, is unexpectedly captivating.” — Lead Manicurist Deborah Lippmann, Founder and Creative Director

This new lacquer formula also provides the glossy look and long-wearing application of gel polish without the nail damage so this makes it a double win!
