Putty Fantastic

March 3rd, 2010

The next manicure must-have.

imageSo 'this' season, and very chic is spring's putty shades- gray with a hint of brown. It pairs as well with jeans or an evening gown.

How to wear it well
Nails should be short and squovel (square with rounded edges) is still the preferred shape.

Pick the right shade for your skin tone
Pale skin should go for the lighter shades. Medium to dark skin tones can choose the darker hues.

Seen above is Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer in Fashion, also a favorite is Waking Up in Vegas.

At your local nail salon opt for OPI's Nail Lacquer in You Don't Know Jacques or for a lighter tone try Tickle Me Francey or Essie's Chinchilly. If you're lucky you will find Peter Philips of Chanel's latest creation and hot "it" shade Le Vernis Particuliere (part of Chanel's Spring 2010 make-up line), which pranced down the runway in September and we're told is practically sold out!

imageBe prepared for the next nail stampede
Speaking of the runway be on alert, because this shade just won't go away. Lancome previews a sneak peek for fall 2010 and their Artistic Director for Makeup Aaron De Mey dazzled up the models nails at the L'Wren Scott and interprets it aptly as blue-gray. No name as yet, but stay tuned we're betting it will have a waiting list.

Also, a brand that nails it just right is color expert Sally Hansen and designer Tracy Reese. Already bottled and waiting to be shipped is Wet Clay in Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure launching in September 2010.
