Fall’s Favorite Foundations

September 24th, 2014

~ Launching now from BareMinerals and Laura Mercier.

If you are shopping this fall for a new foundation to try look no further. These two foundations have been flaunted by beauty magazines in the past month, and I finally got my hand's on them, and no surprise, it's a flawlessly appealing review.

I'll begin with BareMinerals BareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation, $29.00. Anything with 'BARE' captures my interest, and this new foundation focuses on the current trend in the market known as 'foundation serums'. Additionally, it's mineral-based and I've found this to be appealing (no chemicals), but many of them feel chalky, powdery and drying on the skin. Well the Chemist- Gods over at BareMinerals did it successfully this time around, and delivered a product that delivers with good-for-you ingredients, and a beautiful, luminous liquid formula--- might be too liquid for some, I'll explain. Additionally, the coverage level provided tends to be on the sheer side, which I love, but absolutely builds to more coverage with a heavier dose of application, because it is loaded with pigments. Now, what you need to know: This formula is very liquid, watery-like, however, to increase the thickness, slightly, you MUST shake it very well. The bottle doesn't release the liquid so easily, but is probably the best package for this formula, others might have it squirt out. It recommends the brush, but honestly any brush will do, or use your hands as they are your best tool at times. I LOVE that the formula also contains brightening ingredients, like vitamin C, so over time, your skin will look more even-toned on its own and the finish is glow-y!
Next up is a more full-body foundation formula that provides medium to heavy coverage. Just when you think Laura Mercier can't top the beauty world's #1 favorite Tinted Moisturizer, she is on her way to delivering another top-botch cosmetic. The beauty industry is buzzing about the Fall release of Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide, $48. What makes this product so flawless is its revolutionary bi-phase, two part formula (part pigment, part water), which is designed to deliver the most natural looking color and lightweight coverage. What you need to know: You MUST shake this product vigorously to ensure that the pigments blend with the 'reflective waters'. My thoughts, you'll be amazed at how great and natural-looking your skin looks, might even take a second glance to be sure it's you!
