More daring than demure.

imageFall is all about color with confidence. It is a remake of the '80's that has inspired makeup artist to mix their creativity with high-glam techniques. Frost makeup is out, metallic shine is in. Say bye to monochrome eyes, Pat McGrath dazzled the models' eyes to reflect a "kaleidoscope" of color and finish.

Darkness ruled the Fall Runways in shades of black that were appropriate for eyes and nails, but lips?

If you want to get 'back to black' and are brave to do so Chanel has introduced Noirs Obscurs, three dark lipsticks shimmering with scarlet, eggplant and brown. Or M.A.C.'s Style Black range reflects a punk couture in true black that is downright dangerous for night.

imageIf you secretly love the look, but soft and pretty is more your style, Julie Tussey, makeup artist/ jtnyc. com, recommends to sheer it out. "Nars' new lip color, Fast Ride, is this season's perfect wearable hue. I love to match it with Laura Mercier's Sable and load up the rim with a black or brown pencil. “ [Fast Ride is quickly becoming a bestseller, because this seemingly dark purple may intimidate, but swipe it across the lips and its true shade is revealed: a sheer mulberry.]

imageDarkness still prevails on nails, and many will find more comfort in wearing these shades on tips and toes. This autumn's scene stealer, Sephora by OPI's Dark Room is captures the trend with an unexpected tinge of blackened green.

imageSneak Peek to Spring/Summer 2010: The models' nails were either naturally shaded or a few designers kept the nail deep as seen here at the DKNY Show. Maybelline's Express Finish in Mocha Blast was the exact shade used!
