The Best Thing You Can Do For Your Skin, RIGHT NOW

October 3rd, 2013

Skin this time of year gets so dry. The number one benefit you can do for your skin is treat it to weekly exfoliation rituals in the shower. I actually exfoliate my face every other day, and my body just the same. I am a true believer in exfoliation! Lots of exfoliation is key--- body, face, from head to toe. It keeps skin looking healthy. Skin captures that glow, and you know I am always promoting 'the glow'.

Think of putting a moisturizer on dry skin, skin still looks blah and the moisturizer sits on top of the skin. Now imagine removing all those dead skin cells and adding a dose of moisturizer on clean, smooth skin--- you will see for your very own eyes just how quickly it seeps in, and your skin yields the true benefit of the moisturizer.

imageThe body exfoliator can be as easy as combining equal parts of brown sugar and a body oil of your choice or for a store bought one, I like Avalon Organics Lavender Luminosity Exfoliating Enzyme Scrub. This scrub is made with at least 70% organic ingredients. Free of Parabens, Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate, Petrolatum, Artificial Colors and Phthalates. It sloughs away dull, flaky, rough, dead surface cells, leaving a beautiful lavender scent behind. However, I would use this on my body only and save a more gentle one for the face.

imageSince I exfoliate my facial skin often, I've been using Peter Thomas Roth FIRM Peeling Gel (as mentioned in this post) due to its non-abrasiveness. And follow afterwards with a moisturizer rich in Vitamin E for replenishing lost moisture. JĀSÖN Age Renewal Vitamin E Crème 25,000 IU is one that I particularly like, because it also contains Natural Avocado Oil, which is high in essential fatty acids that helps restore elasticity and resilience. Your skin will look amazing after this application.

Avalon Organics Lavendar Luminosity Exfoliating Enzyme Scrub, $16.95, is available at natural food stores, Whole Foods Market and and JASON Age Renewal Vitamin E Creme, $15.49, is available at natural food stores, Whole Foods Market and
