Go Figure Raises The Barre

I love Mondays, it’s like having a play group for adults,” Cindy starts off class as we are rolling back and forth on our backs like a seesaw, halfway through our warm-ups. Cindy Sites, is the owner, founder of Go Figure The Figure Method, a unique hour-long class incorporating the best of Pilates, yoga and classical ballet technique. It is incredibly effective in toning, strengthening and conditioning the entire body. One minute with Cindy, and you will feel the energy she has been using to inspire women for many years. Cindy and her team of experts believe in pushing every one of their clients to the best that they can be and at their own comfort level. It’s not difficult to see why her team and clients are enamored by Cindy’s passion; I even love her more now that we share the same indulgent snack, ICE CREAM. But her incredible strength, motivation and drive is contagious ---- you just keep coming back for more.

MBB: What are the three things we should all do to have a beautiful body?
Cindy: Strengthen, Stretch and Tone! The perfect recipe for a youthful and healthy body.
MBB: Anything we should never do?
Cindy: Never take a Figure Method class on an empty stomach. The body needs fuel to get through the demanding hour. It's important that blood sugar levels don't drop (light headed, nauseous--awful!). Even if it's only a handful of almonds!
MBB: What's the waste of time exercise everyone needs to stop?
Cindy: Jumping from exercise fad to fad, stick with a proven, safe method that never wastes your precious time!
MBB: There are days when I just don’t want to get out of bed and go to class, but knowing you or one of your talented instructors will make me feel great, is all the push I need. What gets you out of bed on these types of days?
Cindy: That amazing feeling that I know I will experience and carry with me all day AFTER class! I'm not just referring to the physical sense of having worked hard to improve my strength and health—but the psychological "high" that follows a Figure Method class.
MBB: What's your bored, eating-while-clicking-On-Demand snack?
Cindy: Ice Cream—any flavor, any brand. It's a food group for me!
MBB: Besides body perfect, you are beautiful too, what is your secret and do you have a go-to-beauty product you couldn't live without?
Cindy: You are waaay tooooo kind……at the risk of sounding like an old lady, I believe in A LOT of sleep. I find that if I am not getting a solid 8 hours of sleep every night I begin to look haggard, my skin and hair "complain" and my mood is awful (you don't want me as your instructor after a 4 hour night of sleep].


Go Figure offers class are available mostly on the East Coast at these locations (NANTUCKET, too!), and out in Arizona, but if you aren’t lucky to have these classes near you, seek out a class offering Pilates or The Barre Method, which are comparable in toning and strengthening.
