Do Eye Creams Prevent Eyebrows from Growing?
December 26th, 2012
I asked and found out.
Contrary to what many eyebrow specialist say, applying an eye cream near the brow area and eye lid does not inhibit eyebrow hair growth.
I asked Dr. Erin Gilbert MD, PhD a New York City Dermatologist, and here is what she says, "You are absolutely right! I have never heard of eye creams inhibiting hair growth! It is true, however, that using an extremely rich eye cream can cause milia (the little white bumps we can get under the skin). I tell my patients that the type of eye cream they will benefit from most varies depending upon their skin type and specific concerns. For example: If undereye bags and sagging of the eyelids is your main concern you will benefit most from a serum or gel-based formula containing caffeine. If dryness and fine lines are your main concern you will get the best rejuvenation from moisturizing eye creams containing mild retinols (such as RoC Retinol Correxion Sensitive Eye Cream) or alpha-hydroxy acids."
Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin.
