Four Seasons Punta Mita, Mexico
You start the school year refocused and energized - only to look at the school calendar to start planning the next vacation.
My suggestion: Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Mexico.
Experiencing this paradise first hand, I can't say enough good things about this extraordinary getaway. This Four Seasons resort combines the perfect combination of family time, relaxation and individual pampering.
Nestled on the northern tip of Bahia de Banderas - one of the world's largest natural bays, the resort's
picturesque beauty includes pristine white sand, rugged lava rock formations and its unforgettable shoreline. Rising in the background are the jungle peaks of the Sierra Madre Mountains blazing high in the summer's sun. The Four Seasons signature infinity pool offers an endless wave of beauty, while the Lazy River is the perfect afternoon siesta spot- even for kids. (Checkout the Kids for All Seasons geared at specific age related activities.)
Punta Mita's amazing Mexican charm comes from the beauty of the land, its people and this splendid hide away. Never have I seen more hospitable staff members--- in addition to being professional they are very personable--- accommodating people in every way possible. Their one goal--- for you and the family to enjoy, relax, not worry and have fun. And EAT, can't forget about this. Throughout the day tastey drinks are passed out at poolside and beach even ice cream and slushy stations are scheduled on a daily basis. The distinctive flavors of regional Mexican cuisine, along with a range of seafood and international favorites create imaginative menus that are sure to delight even the most pickiest eaters. The flair and talents of the restaurants' chefs set unparallel standards.
There is something for everyone. The "Golf Lover" in the family can be in golf heaven playing on Pacifico Golf Course, which was named the number one golf course in the world by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler.
The Spa offers serenity treatments that soothe the soul, the sunburn and the mind, while invigorating the
skin with ingredients indigenous to the land. I had the Hakali massage. This rejuvenating massage involves the application of a warm meringue made of cactus, tuna (the blossom of the cactus), and pulque, using various massages techniques. It also involves using the nopal paddies themselves to apply the meringue directly on to the skin. The nopal, or cactus, is well known for its many healing properties. It was truly a unique experience.
The adventurers in the family- that would mean the children- will find fun in the resorts' wildlife. From exotic birds, jungle-like plantation, reptiles even friendly raccoons the family will feel fearless tracking these sites and animals. The highlight for my nature-loving son was to catch House Geckos at night before entering our room and both boys, including me, discovered a harmless bat cave right on the beach.
Finding respite from the day to day hustle and bustle is a treasure for all and Four Seasons Punta Mita Five-Star Resort is the answer-no double about it. Kids agree, "Four Seasons is the BEST!."

Special Note: Through October 31, 2010, you can enjoy a $1,234 Resort Credit with every four nights booked. Use the credit to discover the best of Punta Mita, from winding up your golf swing to unwinding at the spa.
