The Incredible Lightness of BECCA
July 26th, 2012
Bare but there beauty.
I met Becca many years ago when it first launched at Henri Bendel's as a chic, boutique cosmetic brand. I admired her reliability to always give me the most beautiful natural look, and blushing glow. Since that time, I have become good friends with her, unfortunately, my infrequent visits to the city made us fall out of touch. We recently became reacquainted, and like a good friend catching up, I've missed her light, colorful formulations.
I have a lot of catching up to do, but have recently tried two new recent shade launches, which enhance the skin's beauty. Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone, $14, is a sheer liquid highlighter and moisturizer that veils the skin so that you don't even know its there. It illuminates the skin subtly offering a glow that brings only perfection to your face. What I love most about this product is that you customize it and blend as you wish.
Here are some tips from BECCA's makeup artists':
-For an all over luminous look: Apply as a base over the entire face.
-For a radiant complexion: Mix with a small amount of your foundation or tint.
-To highlight cheekbones, brow bones and temples, dab over foundation using your fingers.
BECCA is also launching two new shades of Mineral Blush that offers a soft glow to complement the Shimmering Skin Perfector. Available in two angelic shades: Gypsy (pink glow) and Songbird (coral glow), $32 each, these blushes reflect light and cast luminosity to your skin. I am also giving away one of each here today so ENTER the giveaway and be sure to share what shade you prefer! Deadline: Today at midnight.
Here's another application tip from BECCA:
-Buff onto the apples of the cheeks
-Layer over a creme for added intensity.
Speaking of creme based blushes, which I am a HUGE fan of, BECCA has a Beach Tint product, which gives the perfect summer's glow on cheeks. The formula is very interesting, probably a little too fluid for my liking, but the shade is perfect!
