Concern over Bumble and bumble’s Concen Straight
I seldom try a product that I REALLY wish I never did. Unfortunately, that happened to me last week.
I've heard wonderful editorial reviews about Bumble and bumble's Concen Straight. In fact so much so that it jumped 10 notches up on my to-try list. I bought it a month ago expecting to try it sooner, but thankfully I didn't- my hair would have been a disaster for the CEW Awards and instead of getting compliments I would have received how-to tips to improve the texture.
Feeling a little frizzy lately and a loss of control with my hair, I got desperate and gave this product a try. The product reviews on line were mixed, but what persuaded me were the comments that stated 'don't listen to what others are saying, this product is great!'
There I was one afternoon washing, towel drying and applying Concen S and straightening it as the instructions stated. Excited to finally end the war with my hair during the hot summer months approaching, I waited about an hour before rinsing the solution out.
Well, I did not like it one bit, and still don't. It turned my hair a bright reddish blond (it did warn against this), made my hair dry, fragile and VERY brittle. Ugh! Frizzy hair never looked so good to me and I miss my old texture back. My hair did not appear smooth and sleek, at all. Hair oils have become my new best friend and I am giving my hair more frequent washings, hoping the 30 shampoos is up sooner than later.
One hair oil I am particularly thankful for and which launched in the nick of time is Pureology Precious Oil Versatile Caring Oil. This versatile oil offers the perfect blend of sunflower seed, coconut, olive, and jojoba oils and is used to restore softness, elasticity, shine and moisture to colour-treated hair- or in my case, hair that has been damaged by chemical straighteners. In trying this product, I found other uses to include anti-frizz control, de-tangling, and even skin conditioning! And its deep conditioning benefit is perfect for overnight treatments. I apply it evenly through hair before going to bed and in the morning just rinse it out. And when I blow dry my hair I blend 2 drops with my straightening balm product for radiant shine!
My advice is stay away from Concen S, but I welcome you to use Purelogy Precious Oil, my hair saver.
