Let’s Talk

December 16th, 2010

The voice of reason.

imageI am taking a minute out of my regular beauty blog postings to share some important news.

I was recently asked by Mom Central to spread awareness about Liz Claiborne's participation in "It's Time to Talk Day."

Being a mother, I realize the importance to educate and provide information to young girls- and boys- about what is a healthy relationship and when it has gone wrong. They need to understand that Love is Not Abuse and when teen dating turns a corner and becomes bad we need to give them the assureness to say "hey, this isn't right" and is along the lines of violence along with domestic abuse. Creating this national awareness will help educate parents and teens about domestic violence and teen dating abuse, enable them to identify the warning signs, and show them how to get involved in prevention and where to get help if needed.

There is a short test on this site that will help TEST YOUR KNOWLEGE ABOUT TEEN DATING VIOLENCE.

Additionally, Liz Claiborne's commitment since 1991 in the Love Is Not Abuse program, has provided information and tools to learn more about the issue and find out how to help end this epidemic.

Visit the loveisnotabuse site and learn for yourself ways you can educate yourself on this topic and share with your friends or teen.

"I wrote this post as part of a campaign with Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Liz Claiborne and received a gift card as a thank you for taking the time to participate.”
