Guess what is absolutely filthy at your local grocery?
I was watching the Today Show yesterday and they are doing a series on 'filth'. And they mentioned grocery carts carry an excessive amount of bacteria. Now this isn't new to me, but they proceeded to share what types of bacteria are lurking around on these 'wagons on wheels' and it isn't good- E.coli! You know that bad kind that sends you running into the bathroom. Kids just love to push these wagons and they are the prime victims. Especially little ones who love to 'bite', 'lick' the metal or better yet touching them with their hands and then sucking on their little fingers. I have total respect for those comforty cloth holders that you are seeing more and more parents use when they take their little ones shopping. As for the older kids and adults, it is definitely wise to bring along a hand sanitizer or wipes to clean the carts before you put your hands on them. Many carts now come with sanitizer wipes attached to the cart too. I always like to use my
own stash so I highly recommend the Target brand wipes- lemon scent. Affordable and fresh, however, these are usually stored in my car so they won't do me any good. Target if you are listening please make a travel pouch! Then there is always Frais, the heavenly scent one from the 'land down under' that I love. And this one fits conveniently in my purse!
