Flouncey, bouncy hair
March 4th, 2010
More backstage secrets from the fall 2010 runway shows.
We all want that hair that bounces as we walk, and adds just the right amount of volume at the crown of the head. The experts at John Frieda shared this tip they used to get the models hair just right during the fall/winter 2010 runway shows.
At the Gucci shows, hairstylist Luigi Murenu worked John Frieda Luxurious Volume Bountiful Mousse through damp hair, then blew it dry with a round brush. He then wrapped the hair in Velcro rollers- one curler that never goes out of date. The key to making this work is hair should be dry, with a slight dampness to it. I even like to use the curlers on second day hair. I roll the hair at the crown, shower- the steam from the shower helps set it, then blow it dry with the curler still in. I let it sit for a while and Viola!, just the right amount of pouf! Next, I blow dry it again and mess it up with my hand.
Velcro curlers are a great, inexpensive investment. I even curl the front under to help get those Nicole Richie sideswept bangs.
Give it a try... you'll wonder why you didn't use them earlier.
