An Oscar Afterthought

The expert touches of Bruce Grayson.
I had the wonderful priviledge- as I do every year- of interviewing Bruce Grayson, makeup department head of the Academy Awards and Olay spokesperson. I thought I would take a new spin this year and write about a few trends Bruce shared a day later instead of a day earlier.
The bold, the beautiful and the ever cool Sandra Bullock wore one of the most important color looks- RED- on the lips. Bruce shared that he will be painting many lips red, but not the deep rouge traditionally seen. "There is a move away from true red and coral red is so very in." Sandra could due no wrong, her gown, her hair, her winning speech so perfect. Personally, I felt her lips were a little too orange, and needed to be a tinge more daring. The Today Show mentioned her lips were fuschia, where they got that from I have not a clue.
Bruce, shared that it is best to "push forward" and accentuate one feature. As seen in Sandra Bullock's gorgous look all the focus was on her lips- and her hair- she wears the side-part so well and her hair gleemed shiny and healthy.
This Red Carpet highlighted the new "translucent smokiness", which I LOVE. Personally, I am not a smudge, dark eye girl so when Bruce shared the trick to achieving this application I listened up and tried it for my own Red Carpet Viewing party. The skin, Bruce confessed, can't miraculously look beautiful and glowing overnight.
