My Beautyberry 2012 BEST Beauty Finds

December 28th, 2012

Another year of living beautiful.

I search in every store, at every cosmetic counter and read the beauty magazines to bring you the latest in creams, serums, hair products and cosmetics. Here's a list of tried and tested products that I LOVED in 2012 and will carry over into the new year to keep me glowing.

Olga Lorencin-Northup gives us celebrity-worthy skin right in our own home. Her line duplicates treatments and products she uses on the best-dressed skin in Hollywood (Halle Berry and Anne Hathaway are regular customers). Olga's Kinara Skin Care Line and Red Carpet Facial are the next best thing to hopping on a plane to LA and sitting in her aesthetician chair.

Best HAIR Product
No three ways about it — smooth, well nourished hair hit it big in 2012. The best news that came from the ban on Brazilian Hair Treatments were at-home products that offer sleekness, smoothness and shine without a health cost. Garnier's NEW Sleek and Shine 5-in-1 Serum Spray that contains Argan Oil and a micro mist to keep our hair looking in check from morning to night, in high humidity, and when the weather makes our hair dry. Thumb's up to the whole product line, which won’t leave your hair in hiding under a hat or wake up with a bad hair day. (And the line is SO very affordable, you'll keep going back to try all 10-products.)

imageBest Good-For-You SCENT
You say you didn’t grow up soaking up the French Riviera sun or parking your yacht in St.Tropez? No reason you can’t smell the part, thanks to Caudalie's Divine Oil. This quintessential fragrance is known as 'the French Riviera in a bottle', and every pretty person in France swears by it. Formulated with Grape-seed Polyphenols, Oils of grape, hibiscus, sesame and argan, French Women including the owner, Mathilde Thomas, swears that this priceless treasure nourishes the body from hair to toes leaving behind an incredible soft scent.

imageBest Beauty FLUSH
Finally, a beach glow in a tube thanks to Becca Cosmetics Beach Tint. Available in eight shades that brighten the skin as if you were frolicking in the sand all day without any sun damage. Just what our skin needs a little rosiness and bright outlook as we move into 2013.

Best LASH Enhancer in a tube
I went buh-nanas for this formula. "It thickens, lengthens, without leaving a trace of any clumps" plus my eyes looked bigger, brighter and wider and no lash was left untouched. (CoverGirl Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara- even readers have emailed me thanking me for this product recommendation!)

Best Moisturizing TINT
I had two for this section, one is a completely new concept, Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer in a Creme Compact and the other is Dermalogica AGE Smart SkinPerfect Primer SPF 30. Shazam! Both are light formulations that make my skin look so luminous, offers buildable coverage and so easy to apply. At 6 AM when I get up to get my boys ready for school, my skin looks more awake than I do!

imageBest Neutral NAIL of the Moment
Yes, I know brights, patterns and designs are the nail trend of the season and will continue to be into 2013. But I continue to take a backseat and wear my neutral nail with pride. I'm not the only one, apparently, Essie Nail Polish in Brooch the Subject, was seen on the runways for Spring 2013. This sophisticated, chic sandy beige shade can be found at CVS/pharmacy's new Nail Headquarter which is another BEST of the year!

Best LIP Balms
The tinted lip balms in a stick are my favorite product that add a smooch of color, and a whole lot of conditioning. I don't have one favorite in mind, but many--- Burt's Bees, Maybelline Baby Lips, VDL Cosmetics Tint Bar Freeze Pops (only available in Korea), Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, and L'Oreal Color Riche Lip Balm.

Best SUNSCREEN
While in France this summer I discovered Soleil Biafine Sunscreen Milk Ultra Moisturizing FPS 30- it was love at first application. Unfortunately, I can't purchase it here, but came home with two tubes and found it on Amazon.

Best SKIN CARE DUO
I've been using Peter Thomas Roth's CAMU CAMU serum and moisturizer since October and I really have C-een a brightening difference. PTR's lasted innovation contains the Camu Camu, a superfruit, that has 30 x more Vitamin C Power of an orange and offers superior skin brightening benefits. Let's see who can outdo this superhero antioxidant in 2013!

Best HAIR REMOVER
Since I haven't given in to laser hair removal yet- I know, what am I waiting for- Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo ($25; drugstores) has been my saving grace to getting rid of those whisper of whiskers that annoy the chin and upper lip area. Available now in a formula for stubborn hair, this remover is easy and quick to use.

Best CLEANSING SYSTEM
No doubt Clarisonic Mia 2 Sonic Skin Cleansing System,$149, is the best around! A great investment for your skin, and even better way to help keep your New Year's Resolution of NEVER going to bed with your skin not washed!

imageBest Facial MASK
Somme Institute won my radiance back with Boost. This gentle multi-tasker cleanses, exfoliates, and nourishes the skin, while offering a spa-like feel. The warming action coupled with an infusion of vitamins and enzymes gave clarity to my party-ridden skin this season. You bet it will be my go-to mask on New Year's Day!

Best EYE Cream
RoC Retinol Correxion Sensitive Eye Cream has done my eyes a favor and prevented any adverse reactions. This sensitive area needs TLC, and RoC has the right ingredients to ensure it mixes the right ingredients for the best results.

Best BEAUTY BOOZE for your SKIN
I have yet to try this NEW line, but plan on kicking the New Year off with a juicer or two. Top on my list is the Glowing Green Smoothie from the latest celebrity nutritionist-turned-Glow BIO juice bar founder Kimberly Snyder.

Happy New Year to all, and while many of us have continued on with our lives, many are still in mourning or homeless from the aftermath of both 'Sandy's'. May the New Year bring strength and some way plant a smile on the faces of those who have been affected first-hand.
