Reversing This Routine Can Give Your Hair A Boost

Condition before you shampoo.

I've been doing this technique for the past month, and I've found it does help prevent my hair from going limp. It's called "reverse washing", and it still delivers conditioning benefits without weighing down your hair. According to an article in Dr. Oz's The Good Life, here's why it works:

Conditioners are designed to penetrate hair, says stylist Nathaniel Hawkins. What doesn't sink in stays on top and may cause flatness, even after rinsing. The reverse routine lets conditioner give strands what they need, then shampoo removes the extra."

In the past month I've done the reversal routine three out of the five times I've washed my hair per week. If your hair is thick, course, or curly forgo this tip, and stick to your regular routine as your hair needs the conditioning residue, but if you have fine hair give this a whirl, I think you might like it.
