Love is in the Hair

August 30th, 2006

Perform a labor of love this holiday weekend!

imageWell it's back-to-school time for our children, nieces, nephews, and friends. They have new clothes, backpacks and supplies. What about a B-T-S haircut? This school year consider having them go B-T-S with a new 'do and lots of love to share.
And if it's ten inches or longer... listen up for sure.

imageLocks of Love (LOL), a non-profit charity, accepts donations and will weave your hair into a hairpiece for a financially disadvantaged child who has incurable medical hair loss. Just think how this will make a child feel and just think how much self-confidence you will give back to this child. Now doesn't that make you feel great yourself! The wonderful thing is that children comprise over 80% of the donors, making this charity a focus on children helping children.

The age and sex of the donors does not matter. What are the requirements is the following:

-Hair must be 10 inches or longer.
-Clean, dry hair only... hair swept off the floor is unacceptable.
-Send sealed in a plastic bag or padded envelope, and wrapped in a ponytail or braid.
-Hair must be free of damage from chemical processing.
-Hair that is short, gray, or unsuitable for children is also not suitable for LOL.

Send locks to:
Locks of Love
2925 10th Avenue North
Suite 102
Lake Worth, Fl 33461

LOL also collects monetary donations that you can send to the same address.
