The Pink Coat
October 17th, 2012
Naked nails can be quite chic.
I have been meaning to write about this product since August, then a friend and beauty writer, Jenn Falik mentioned it this past weekend, and I had my 'a-ha' moment- a definite must mention. In fact, I remember vividly the day I tried it, I stopped dead in my tracks to take a photo of my nails, because I couldn't believe how 'clean and bright' they looked, as seen in the photo below.
While everyone is enjoying the 'color' explosion on nails, I have taken the neutral road. Personally, I love the look of short, clean well-buffed fingernails, probably due to the fact the brightest color of polish ever worn by my mom was Ballet Slippers or Mademoiselle. This is not to say I don't like dark or vibrant shades on others, I love the look, but once I apply it on my own tips, after a day, I feel the urge to remove it.
What is so amazing about Pink Gel Coat is that it gives- as Jenn states- 'that youthful appearance' to nails. For me, they make the pink, brighter and the whites of the nail, whiter, overall a healthier nail look (perfect for nails prone to yellowing). This sheer pink coating also strengthens and hardens natural nails so they grow beautifully long and strong.
And thanks, Jenn, for the validation that we are cool, I didn't know the models at the alice + olivia Spring 2013 presentation sported the Pink Gel Coat.
The best color in the whole world, is the one that looks good, on you!
